
In addition to Joe Beaver's round 1 win by only a one-tenth of a second margin in the tie-down roping contest, the team roping event and barrel raccing contests where also clock-stoppers. Team roping header Travis Tryan and partner Jhett Johnson won the round with a 4.3 second run, just six-tenths of a second ahead of the team of X-time world champion Speed Williams and x-time world champion Clay O'Brien Cooper. Reigning barrel racing world champion Kelly Kaminski was three-hundredths of a second behind first time winner Shelly Anzick; Kelly took second place. Trevor Brazile still holds a sizable lead in the All-Around contest, with more than $118,000 ahead of Joe Beaver in the second place spot.
