Six-time world champion saddle bronc rider Dan Mortensen needs only one more world title to surpass the legendary Casey Tibbs for most in the event. He took a major step toward that achievement during the second round of 2006 Wrangler NFR competition -- Dan's 15th Wrangler NFR. Dan rode Calgary Stampede’s Knight Rocket for 87.5 points for his 24th career round victory at the Wrangler NFR. Also no stranger to the Wrangler NFR, 3-time team roping (heeling) world champion, and 24-time Wrangler NFR competitor, Allen Bach turned in a 4.5 second run with header partner Chad Masters to win the Go-Round. Allen stands in second place in the world standings just $2,240 back from first. With a Wrangler NFR Go-Round first place paying $16,022, Allen is sure to be looking at Round 3 with anticipation. Good luck, guys. We'll be watching tomorrow.
