Monday night's round 5, the halfway point in the 10-day Wrangler NFR event, resulted in four events tied for top spot in the round: team roping, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding and bull riding. With his first place tie in the bareback contest, reigning and two-time World Champion Will Lowe extends his hold on a third world title by more than $80,000. With their tie, Clay O'Brien Cooper, seven-time world champion team roping heeler, joins his heading partner, eight-time world champion, Speed Williams, at the top of the world standings brackets. Clay sees the win as a reset from disappointing earlier performances. Clay: "I was really wanting to win a go-round to redeem ourselves. I was telling Speed that we needed to get into a rhythm and put four or five runs together, and it felt good. We had a good, smooth run and it was fast. I would like to put some more together like that." Five more nights to go, guys. We'll be watching tomorrow.
